Vice Versa Global is a platform spearheaded by young journalists from the Global South who are keen on telling the African story from the youth’s point of view by creating socially conscious content through vlogs, columns, video, articles and discussions in order to share ideas and spark dialogue about social change.

Cynthia is all about telling positive stories of development from the rural areas. A champion for the betterment of lives and vulnerable women from the coastal region, she will be identifying original untold stories of the heroes and heroines from the region, fight teenage pregnancies and address possible solutions that will help change the narrative of poverty, and bring positive impact and development to the Kenyan coastal community.

Nicera Wanjiru

Nicera is a writer and content developer from Kibera whose passion is to amplify community voices through media and real life stories from informal settlements. As the Founder of Community Mappers, a team of experienced survey and spatial data collectors in Nairobi, she has more than decade worth of experience in community organizing, data collection and training experience with Slum Dwellers International (SDI). She will be focusing on climate action, innovation and technology, gender based violence and mapping and data collection in the informal settlements.

Mark is a professional photojournalist, visual content creator and video editor based in Uganda. He will be working with Vice Versa Global in Africa to create and produce more visual stories highlighting the achievements made by the youth of our continent, including vlogs and documentaries that will be published every month on our various platforms.

As the founder of Youth Canvas, a platform by the youth and for the youth. She has a keen interest in youth advocacy, reporting and documenting on scalable developmental initiatives. Her mission for Vice Versa Global is to write objective truths and realities that can be relied upon to inform, educate and challenge and by documenting stories on young people taking strides to address social issues, and continue making it instrumental at influencing them to take the wheel of leadership and making a change.

Pius Okore

A finance graduate with a passion for reading which has grown his proficiency in revising materials for publications in periodicals and website. Besides that he is also a lover of taking control matters regarding financial health and has also worked as an editor for the Youth Canvas where he double up as the lead research assistant and has honed his skills of reviewing and deciding material that will appeal the most to readers, give a platform to the untold stories and the unsung heroes and heroines and conform to the editorial policy.

Emmanuel Mandebo

He is a multi talented artist who comes with more than 7 years of experience in the film and creative industry as an actor, writer, director and producer. This budding media and entertainment lawyer will be holding periodical reviews of African films with socially conscious messages, besides lending his extensive experience to the creative process of the audiovisual production for Vice Versa Global.

An advocate in the field of HIV/AIDS and sexual violence, Eva Nakato is also an accomplished actress and the founder of Aiden Crafts. A regular columnist for the Vice Versa magazine, she also has a new vlog series ‘Up-Close with Eva Nakato’ where she will be providing an in-depth interaction with the leading game changers from business and community leaders, peer influencers and all top shots from around the globe, availing provocative and mind blowing facts on the Vice Versa Global YouTube channel.

A runway fashion model and actress, Martha is also the CEO of an organisation called Martha WayZ that seeks to
highlight and break stereotypes as well as boost self-esteem. For ViceVersa Global, she will be writing and reporting with a
specific emphasis on local grassroots initiatives. She'll also be the general photographer for the website.
